Got a Samsung phone or tablet? Do you know what to do if you drop it, spill something on it, or crack the screen?
It’s better to be prepared than to not know what to do, so keep reading to find out how to fix a damaged Samsung device.
Ok, first things first: let’s talk about the Samsung warranty.
When you buy a Samsung device you get a 1-year warranty, but this does not cover any accidental damage like drops, spills or cracked screens. So, if you drop your device, chances are you will be paying full replacement cost if it no longer works at all, or around a couple hundred dollars to repair a cracked screen.
The good news is you can purchase the Samsung Protection Plus plan that supplements the warranty and covers accidental damage (drops, spills, cracked screen). This plan costs $129 for 2 years, and each claim you file (maximum of 2 claims per year) will cost a $99 deductible.
If you purchase the Protection Plus plan at the same time you buy your device your coverage will begin immediately. If you purchase the plan after the day you purchased your device, you will have to wait 30 days until your coverage begins.
So, let’s recap:
If you don’t plan on protecting your device with a case, make sure you get the Protection Plus plan from Samsung. This will still cost you over $218 to fix your device the first time you damage it ($129 + $99) but will only cost you $99 for each repair/replacement afterwards. That’s still much cheaper than paying full replacement cost of your device!
Better yet, you can get a Samsung case from Gumdrop Cases to protect from drops, spills and cracked screens and it will only cost you between $29.95 and $69.95, depending on the device. Our cases can last years (depending on how much you drop and damage it), and our customers often praise how their device still looks brand new after they finally take off their case.
Hope this helps!
